G-20 Declaration: Supporting efforts to triple global installed renewable energy capacity by 2030

Between November 18 and 19, G20 leaders met in Rio de Janeiro, culminating in the G20 Leaders' Declaration of the Rio de Janeiro Summit. The declaration refers to support for efforts to triple the global installed renewable energy capacity and triple the global average annual rate of improvement in energy efficiency by 2030, through existing targets and policies and based on national circumstances, and accordingly support for the implementation of other zero- and low-emission technologies, including carbon abatement and removal technologies, by 2030.

National Energy Administration Issues Circular on Grid Security Risk Control Measures

In order to effectively prevent the risk of large-scale power outages on the grid, establish a grid security risk control mechanism guided by scientific prevention, process management as a means, and the whole process of closed-loop supervision as a support, and guarantee the safe and high-quality development of the new electric power system, on November 19th, the National Energy Board issued the "Grid Security Risk Control Measures", and interpreted the policy.

Energy Law of the People's Republic of China, full text is here!

On November 8, the 12th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress voted to adopt the Energy Law of the People's Republic of China. This law consists of nine chapters, including general provisions, energy planning, energy development and utilization, energy market system, energy reserves and emergency response, energy science and technology innovation, supervision and management, legal responsibility, bylaws, etc., since January 1, 2025 shall come into force.
