Xi pointed out that since the end of last year, China-EU relations have shown a good momentum of consolidation and development, and high-level dialogues in the fields of strategy, economy and trade, green and digital have achieved rich results, which are in line with the interests of both sides and the expectations of the people. China and Europe are two major forces promoting multipolarity, two major markets supporting globalization, and two major civilizations advocating diversity. Under the current international situation of intensifying turbulence, China-EU relations are of strategic significance and global influence, and have a bearing on world peace, stability and prosperity. Both sides have the responsibility to work together to provide more stability for the world and more impetus for development.

Xi emphasized that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the EU. The two sides should summarize their historical experience, grasp the world trend and adhere to the correct positioning of the comprehensive strategic partnership. The two sides should consolidate the political foundation, insist on viewing each other from a strategic perspective, play a leading role in leaders' meetings and the five high-level dialogues, strengthen strategic communication, and enhance understanding and settle differences through constructive dialogues. The two sides should establish a correct perception, enhance mutual understanding and trust, emphasize trust and righteousness, and develop their relations with a single-minded focus. They should not regard each other as rivals just because they have different systems, reduce cooperation just because there is competition, or engage in confrontation just because there are differences. The Chinese and European economies are highly complementary, and the two sides should do more additive work to tighten the ties of the Chinese-European community of interests with deeper and broader cooperation. China's economic growth maintains a steady upward momentum. China is promoting high-quality development and high-level opening up, and is willing to treat the EU as a key partner in economic and trade cooperation, a priority partner in scientific and technological cooperation, and a credible partner in industrial chain supply chain cooperation, in pursuit of mutual benefits and win-win results, and to realize common development. The two sides should strengthen complementary advantages in market, capital and technology, promote the upgrading of traditional industries and the development of new industries, explore new modes of cooperation, create new growth points, and work together to improve the industrial chain supply chain. The two sides should also strengthen humanistic exchanges and facilitate people-to-people exchanges.

Xi emphasized that Chinese-style modernization and European integration are strategic choices made by China and Europe for their respective futures, and that China and Europe should respect each other, support each other, strengthen the docking of their development strategies and achieve common development. The "One Belt, One Road" initiative is an open platform that has brought tangible benefits to more than 150 countries and people around the world. If you give a rose to someone, you will get a fragrance from their hands. China is willing to continue to promote the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, including dovetailing with the European Union's Global Gateway program, and to help developing countries accelerate their development. The two sides should strengthen communication and coordination within the United Nations, the Group of 20 and other multilateral frameworks, adhere to multilateralism, oppose confrontation between camps, promote political solutions to international and regional hotspot issues, and carry out dialogues and cooperation on major issues concerning the future of mankind, such as artificial intelligence, so as to contribute to enhancing the well-being of mankind as a whole and addressing global challenges.
